Views of Kao-Ping River Bridge, Dashu District, Kaohsiung City & Pingtung County, Taiwan. The single pylon unsymmetrical cable-stayed bridge over Gaoping River is connecting Dashu, Kaohsiung City and Jiuru, Pingtung County. Construction period: 1996 April 29 ~ 1999 December 30. The bridge carries the Freeway #3 and was opened for traffic in 2000. The superstructure is made of steel and post-tensioned concrete.

The bridge consists of a single pylon with an inverted Y-frame and a single central plane cable system including 28 cable stays. The longitudinal arrangement of the bridge has an unsymmetrical configuration with a main span of 330 m and a side span of 184.4 m. The deck structure of the bridge is constructed with a single steel box girder in the main span and a single reinforced concrete box girder in the side span in order to balance the loads acting on the pylon. The inverted Y-frame pylon is made of reinforced concrete and has a height of about 183.5 m above foundation.
