One thing that keeps Christians on the straight and narrow way to heaven and God is simply the painful thought of regretting for all eternity that we did not do what we claimed we believed. Jesus came to motivate us. Jesus came to give us an abundant life (John 10:10) not a life of would have, should have, or could have. An empty life of good intentions is Satan's plan. That's the devil's victory. The victory in Jesus is a life actually lived. That is the path of spiritual joy walking with God.
