Overview of Recent State Water Related Funding

In fiscal year 2021-22, the State of California had a $49 billion surplus. For 22-23 the surplus will be $29 billion. President Biden's American Rescue Plan Act is distributing $43 billion to California at the State and Local levels, more than any other state. Billions more is coming from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Billions of that will be used for water infrastructure and environmental projects, explained and broken down by Rachel Ehlers, official bi-partisan analyst for the California State Legislature.
