Will a long-hair German Shepherd shed more than a short-haired German Shepherd?

German Shepherds are beautiful large breed dogs that shed a lot. Routine brushing and vacuuming are necessary to keep dog hair in your house under control.

German Shepherds have three coat lengths ranging from short, medium, and long. All 3 of the German Shepherd coat lengths have a thick undercoat which causes them to shed more than other breeds of dogs.

Long-haired German Shepherds trap dirt and debris easier than short-haired German Shepherds, making them appear to shed more than shorter coats.

This video discusses the misconception that long-haired German Shepherds shed more than short-haired Shepherds.
