Atheism used to be swag, now it’s a drag. After a dreadful run in 20th century Marxist politics, atheism reinvented itself as a global thought sensation with wildly influential, controversial and outspoken thinkers such as Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens. A little over a decade later, the same movement is viewed as a laughingstock and was largely abandoned in favor of other schools of thought. Well, it all went downhill with an elevator. And a gate. Elevatorgate.
