Labor promise for local government representation at National Cabinet 'madness'

Rita Panahi says Anthony Albanese's tweet that a Labor government would ensure local government is represented at National Cabinet is "madness".
"I mean ... do we need fringe-dwelling activist class who populate councils to make National Cabinet even more unworkable?" Ms Panahi said.
"Can you just imagine the madcap antics if you've got councillors, along with state premiers and the Prime Minister, all sort of determining the direction the country's going to go in a crisis?" she said.
