Tim Langan - Herbie's Buds

"Herbie's Buds" was written in 2000 as a part of my CD - "My 2000 ACID Experiments" - which refers to the year of creation and to a computer program, rather than a vast number of experiences with LSD. ACID is a loop based computer program that I used, in conjunction with my synthesizer at the time (the Korg 01Wfd) to create this CD. All of these compositions were recorded on a friend's studio computer over the coarse of a few months. Unfortunately, all of the master files for this disc were lost when his hard drive melted down. Fortunately, I had burned a copy of all of the songs to a CD prior to all of the files being lost forever.
This video slideshow and the accompanying piece is a little on the dark side. While I realize that there are many benefits to our health from the use of marijuana and its oils and by-products, I also know that the smoking of said product is NOT a healthy choice. Setting fire to anything and breathing it in, is just plain foolish. The title of this song was chosen to go along with the drug theme of the CD, in a very tongue & cheek way. Lots of sound effects and long synthesizer chords were used to create this song, as well as some vocal sound effects, such as the gasping for breath. Shame that no one was there to answer the phone in the end !
