In this video, let's go over a full setup of the privacy respecting Android operating system CalyxOS. This guide includes a walk through of all the setup screens after fresh installation and first boot of CalyxOS. There is a discussion of microG services including Google Account sign in, Device Registration, Cloud Messaging, Safety Net and Location modules, and the privacy implications for enabling and disabling each one. We'll go over Datura Firewall which is CalyxOS's firewall front end allowing easy and full resolution network controls for each app and service on the device. We'll examine VPN's (virtual private networks) and DNS's (domain name systems) how to set them up, when to use them and their benefits to privacy. Finally we will go over how to set App Permissions, how to change them, and how to determine valid settings for each app.
