Police, Crime, and the Homeless 1-24-22

I was watching a City of Norman online town hall conversation, with various candidates running for City Council positions answering questions about important issues. Many questions focused on crime, police funding, homeless shelters, and the homeless problem in general. Having grown up in NYC and also spending a lot of time in Oklahoma, I decided to write my thoughts discussing these two worlds. You can find the article here:

In this video, I go into more detail on my thoughts on how to deal with crime and homelessness. A lot of it comes down to solving the drug problem as well as providing opportunity for the less fortunate among us. We are not going to be able to help everyone, especially not if we attempt a "one size fits all" solution. But perhaps we can help a lot of the people in need, and also reduce crime in the process.

Solve the drug problem and provide opportunity, and that will be a good start to solving everything else.
