Roundabout by Yes ~ Becoming the Light of the World

Yet another truly classic song in this series, this time from the Brilliant, Creative Band, Yes...the band was blessed with not only some of the finest musicians in Rock Music, it also featured the Lyrics and Vocals of Jon Anderson, and from their first album onwards, there has been a Legion of Fans trying to figure out what Jon Anderson's lyrics have actually meant...and I can share with you, it is this...the Journey to Seek God, here, in Heaven Upon Earth...

In the song, Roundabout, Anderson creates the Mental picture of a Divine Mountain backdrop somewhere, Complete with Snow Capped peaks, a Beautiful Valley below it and a Lake down in front of it...a Roundabout...now, the Key line in the song that allows us to know specifically what Anderson was writing about is, 'Mountains come out of the Sky and Stand there..."

This is a play upon Donovan's lyric, 'First there is a Mountain, then there is no Mountain, then there is..." Which is an Allegory for the practice of MEDITATION, where in that Divine state of Stillness and Silence, connected to God, we can literally Move Mountains, without even lifting a hand...thus, the entire song is a very clever lyric that is teaching us about the Practice of Meditation and why it is so important and valuable...and ultimately, the song is about Raising Jesus Christ Within us, up to the Right hand side of God, in Heaven upon Earth...the Eagle that has Risen Again, the Phoenix who has Resurrected itself from the Ashes, Lazarus, Christ our Lord...
