Impossible Bolt Through Frame Install Trick - Great For Snow Plow, Trailer Hitch or Running Boards!
This is a handy trick to know if you ever have to add or replace a bolt through a vehicle’s frame in a spot that seems impossible to get the bolt to without removing parts. In this example scenario on a 2002 Ford F250 4x4, the snow plow bracket was missing a bolt. Normally, you’d have to remove the bumper to install this bolt but as demonstrated in this video, there is a tricky way to feed the bolt through the frame with wire that helps you avoid taking the bumper off. All it takes is a little bit of wire and the right technique, as you’ll see in the video. This trick can have a multitude of uses throughout a mechanic’s career for all sorts of installs. This trick can save you lots of time when installing snow plows, running boards, trailer hitches, etc.
