Ivory Hecker on untold side of corporate news media, censorship, and independent journalism

Journalists are supposed to ask questions. When Ivory Hecker did just that, she said her corporate news company tried to wag its finger and silence her. When her higher powers tried to censor and omit sound from Ivory's interview with a COVID-19 doctor in Texas, Ivory held her news station accountable - and called it out live on air.

Her road to independence is memorable, but her day-job experiences are all too common. Whether you're an MMJ in a small market with big dreams or a reporter that "paid their dues" to make it to a big city, this one is for you. Actually, anyone in any industry can likely relate to this one.

Ivory and I both spent years in corporate TV news all over the country, with Ivory most recently in Houston and with me most recently in San Diego. This is her story and more.
