Wow. The head of the national teachers union (AFT) Randi Weingarten claimed school choice has INCREASED segregation.

That's not true.

The more housing is attached to schooling, the more segregated by income and race it's likely to be.

School choice empowers students to cross lines—because they're not compelled to go to a school based on where a red line drawn district boundary was made.

When schooling is detached from housing, you increase opportunities for people to mix across neighborhoods—and you also reduce segregation in housing.
