Dr. Sabine Hazan: COVID and the microbiome

The microbiome are the bacteria in the gut and airways. They are essential for life: without out microbiome, we could not live. Dysbiosis is when the microbiome is disturbed. It could be that there are harmful bacteria and/or that there is too little diversity.

Dr. Hazan is an expert on the microbiome. She explains that the immune system is for a huge part in the gut. If you have dysbiosis, the immune system is weakened.

She has done extensive scientific research on the relationship between the microbiome and COVID, and also on its relationship with other disease, such as autism, alzheimer, parkinson, et cetera.

Effective steps that you can take to improve you microbiome:

- Consume beneficial bacteria (probiotics) such as with kefir and real sauerkraut, but also organic fresh vegetables and fruit. Working in the garden can also be desirable.
- Eat whole food which contains fibers and other food for the microbiome
- Get your vitamin D blood levels above 50 ng/ml
- Avoid chronic stress
- Avoid antibiotics unless you have absolutely no other choice

Dr. Hazan has (co-)written two excellent scientific articles recently:

Effectiveness of Ivermectin-Based Multidrug Therapy in Severe Hypoxic Ambulatory COVID-19 Patients (written with other heavyweights, such as Peter McCullough and AThomas Borody)
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.07.06.21259924v1

The lost microbes of COVID-19: Bifidobacteria depletion and decreased microbiome diversity are a predictability marker of severe COVID 19, a cross sectional study

The first one of the articles is still 'only' a preprint after more than 6 months. This is the way it works nowadays. Articles that are positive about unprofitable therapies take ages to get publishes. Articles that are negative about unprofitable therapies or positive about profitable therapies get published fast. Follow the money.
