Dholavira is an archaeological site at Khadirbet in Bhachau Taluka of Kutch District, in the state of Gujarat in western India, which has taken its name from a modern-day village 1 kilometer south of it. This village is 165 km from Radhanpur and 358 Km from Ahmedabad

The City of Dholavira located in Khadir island of the Rann of Kutch belonged to the matured Harappan phase. Today what is seen as a fortified quadrangular city set in a harsh arid land, was once a thriving metropolis for 1200 years (3000 BCE-1800 BCE) and had access to the sea prior to the decrease in sea level.
