This is the heart-stopping moment a pilot descended through blinding cloud that hid the runway until just moments before the aircraft landed.

Pilot Steve Giordano was on the point of aborting landing the Boeing 767-300 when co-pilot Bob Allen spotted the runway lights, allowing them to touch down in Blytheville, Arkansas.

They were flying the 22-year-old former Japanese Airlines aircraft from Tokyo, to the small Arkansas airport.
