Estwing Bowie Knife | A lightweight outdoor utility knife?

Estwing describes this knife as being the "perfect outdoor utility knife" that is "lightweight and easy to carry." Well, I like my Estwing hammers and axxes, so I thought I would give this a shot.

This knife is made in the U.S.A., which is great. It is pretty much indestructible, which is also great. But it is not perfect for the outdoors, lightweight, or easy to carry. It is a very heavy solid piece of sharpened knife-shaped metal. Quality control seems pretty bad, the first knife I sent back to Amazon because the tip was ground off and you could see the color changes in the steel where the blade had overheated. The second knife, the one in this video, was just not sharp at all. The handle is pretty uncomfortable and has a seam where the powder-coating was applied in two layers, one to either side of the handle.

Probably just don't buy this knife.
