We’ve repeatedly been told that the covid vaccines are safe and effective and that the benefits outweigh the risks, but how does this apply to children?

With the rollout of the second dose of vaccines for children over 12 now under way in the UK, in this important episode we speak with Dr Ros Jones about what is currently known about vaccine safety within children based upon emerging data from around the world.

Ros is a retired Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in neonatal intensive care and paediatric HIV. She has served on the Advisory Committee of the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit and on the Education & Training committee of the RCPCH.

Ros is a very active member of the HART (Health Advisory and Recovery Group) particularly with respect to potential concerns around the rollout of the children’s Covid Vaccine.

During this episode we discuss:

- What do we know about the Covid-19 vaccine trial safety data for children, and how does this differ from the standard trial protocols?

- How the JCVI assessed the risk-benefit of Covid-19 vaccination for children?

- What adverse events are being reported for children and adolescents on the Yellow Card system?

- What investigations are currently taking place regarding the known adverse events?

- How can we hold the Government accountable for any serious damage inflicted upon children and adolescents following the vaccine, including legal challenges and any compensation that may be available.

- This is an incredibly important and timely conversation which affects all our children and is a must watch for any parent who has concerns and questions about the rollout within children.
