Any purchase of or ownership in a business or commodity that makes no money is speculation. You are speculating that the business will make money in the future or that you will sell your shares or the business for a higher price.
Businesses that cash flow has proven that they can make money. They have a track record of success. It's not a speculation its actually performance.
If you are growing your wealth stay away from speculating as your cash is precious. Only give your cash to assets that will pay you to own them. Don't give away your cash freely. You worked for it.
