Being Factchecked by the ignorant

What is the root cause of the total ignorance of our younger generation? I say there's a total system issue, with selfish and uncaring parents, teachers that are more party leaders than instructors, and the lack of shame in the younger generation about being ignorant...and being given awards for it.
