Burying the Lede

Have you ever heard somebody completely change the focus of the conversation, and place equal weight to both the new and previous arguments/issues as a way to get you to stop talking about the obviously more significant argument/issue? Have you ever heard someone say - about the Rittenhouse case - "I don't want to talk about the self-defense case, the more important question is 'Should he have been there in the first place?'" I may be coining the term, but feel free, now, to call that fallacy out as what it is: *Burying the Lede*

Note: No idea why here in the US it's spelled "lede". The research I've seen seems to indicate the slightly preferred spelling in the US is "lede" and not "lead".
