Why is this done? ⬇️
A build up of algae and other waste can lead to skin disease so it’s important that we clean their shells often!
The brown and green on the turtles are a mix of algae and water scales. *This turtle is being cleaned at a marine rescue centre / do not try this!*
In the wild, this is done by “cleaner fish”
