Vern's employer changes a planned business trip that would have allowed him to take Margie to Hawaii. The goal of the trip is to win over a new client who is a retiring actress that is extremely vain about her age and chooses men several years younger than she is, to the point of telling people here grown son is a nephew. Vern even dyes his hair in an effort to create the allusion of being much younger than he is. To keep Margie happy Vern gives her the a Hawaii tickets explaining that he is no longer able to go to Hawaii and is instead going to Alaska. He gives her permission to cash in the tickets and use the money as she wishes. Accompanied by Roberta, the two use the Hawaii tickets instead of cashing them in. Vern while wooing the movie star client is put in a position where he has to claim Margie is only 12 years old after she and Roberta both show up as invited guests of the stars grown son.
