The First Amendment was endorsed to encourage GODly and moral living. Church and State both are to be accountable to interests that serve GOD.
When a 'Separation of Church and State' is proposed in which Church is banned from State participation and State is banned from Church participation, we have a 'nation divided internally against itself that will not stand' - Matthew 12:25 -.
The First Amendment was not intended to be a death knell to our nation at its very inception. We are to be a people who together 'serve GOD with gladness' - Psalm 100:2 -.
