Super Crispy Oven Roasted Potatoes - my most requested recipe
These roasted potatoes are so crunchy that people are going to think you deep fried them. Try using Yukon Gold potatoes, or if you can't find them, use russet. The secret to the crunchiness is the baking soda, which breaks down the surface of potatoes and creates the slurry around them which crisps up beautifully in the oven.
Ingredients:
Potatoes
Olive Oil
Sea Salt
Baking Soda
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 450F/230C
Put a pot of water to boil
Peel and Cut the potatoes
Salt the water
Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the water
When water boils add your potatoes
Bring the water back to boil and cook the potatoes for 10 more minutes
Strain the potatoes, Mix with olive oil and sea salt
Oil the baking sheet, lay out your potatoes in a single layer and bake at 450F/230C for 20min
after 20min take the potatoes out and flip them over
Bake for another 20-25 until potatoes are golden brown with visible crispness
Add another pinch of salt and enjoy!
