Georgia Audience: Shen Yun—Something to Remember for a Long Time

Shen Yun started its tour in Georgia last week. Audience members in Atlanta and Savannah said it was an unforgettable experience.

"We're very privileged to have Shen Yun coming to Savanna. It was an opportunity of a lifetime," said Vincent Moore, a pilot. "With the colorful costumes, the enchanting backdrops, they're just so majestic. … I would pay for this performance every year."

"I am just so amazed by it, the dancing and the choreography and just the culture," said Matthew Sevastos, a regional head of service delivery and operations.

"It's like visiting China, region by region, from your seat," said Alan Rabon, an artist.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive traditional Chinese culture, which was nearly destroyed by communism.

"It was great for us to be able to finally have an event come here that could have us experience that [true Chinese culture] and be able to see it for what it was really supposed to be before communism came along," said Brandon Roberts, director of marketing at Elite Medical Center. "And it's important that we recognize that, and continue further generations to be able to experience that."

Audience members said the performance touches the soul.

"You know, it really speaks to just the spirit of humanity and how the people's spirituality is central to their lives," said Andrew Brown, a journalist.

"It's a very stressful time in the world and when you sit in there, and you can just relax and let your mind drift. It gets away from everything and can enjoy life," said Gary Webb, owner of Webb Military Museum.

"It was very moving. It was very touching and moving, the show," said Jim Auber, general manager of Swiss Chemical Company. "It put me very at ease, the whole show. It was just very comfortable, very, almost tranquil in a way."

"For me, [it] was something that I'll remember for a long time," he added.

Shen Yun will continue performing in Georgia until Jan. 17.
