Yet another incredible song from Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, the Twin Genius that is Steely Dan...the song, Don't Take Me Alive, creates the Allegory of the Age Old Division between the Left Brain and the Right Brain, and how as Prodigal Sons and Daughters, we became disconnected to our One, True Father, God, and have found ourselves TRAPPED within the Satanic confines of Organized Society...

The Protagonist in the song finds himself at his Wit's End, and does NOT want to continue any longer in this Chaotic Way; so, by going Within himself, he sees the Truth..."He is a Bookkeeper's Son, he doesn't want to hurt anyone"...and the Book is the Bible, and thus, he is the Son of God, a Christ-like being of Divinity, not some mongrel, backed into a corner like some desperate Rat...and there he sees the TRUTH of the situation...he has to DIE of his Left Brain Ego, Crucifixion, and Cast His Net to the Right Side of his own Vessel, so that he will come to know God...thus, the line,

"Got a case of dynamite, I could hold out here all night, yes, I CROSSED my Old Man (God) back in Oregon (Golden Age), Don't Take Me Alive..."

I will "Blow Up" my chaotic Left Brain Carnal Ego, for the Peace and Divinity of God, in Heaven Upon Earth, thru Meditation and Right Brain Paradise...

"Where no sun is shinning, no red lights flashing...here in this Darkness (Meditation), I know what I've done, I know all at once who I am..."
