In the Neighborhood

The country has largely gotten away from the neighborhood both structurally and the mindset.
It is great for children to be a part of a good neighborhood growing up. Yes, the family is the foundation of society, but its great for kids growing up to play with kids in the neighborhood growing up. Yes, parents should know who their kids are playing with, and there are kids and families they shouldn't be around, but it is good for kids to have friends in the neighborhood and visit their homes and meet their parents. I remember doing that in my neighborhood growing up.
Today though people are more transient and stay in their houses on video games and otherwise staying to themselves. Yes, it is much crazier and more dangerous than it was in the 60s and before, but somehow we have to get back to the concept of the neighborhood for the good of children and adults. Good neighborhoods look out for each other and and the people are stronger together than they are individually when dealing with the challenges of society.
Wonderful neighborhoods have been decimated by leftist policy such as the welfare state, including federal government housing and urban renewal. Like families and churches, strong neighborhoods are a threat to the Marxists so they have tried to destroy them for decades and have been largely successful. The Marxists have to be continually fought and we have to get back to strong neighborhoods.
