Fake 'Holographic' Dragon - It's an Augmented Reality App.

This video has been distributed as an example of a life-sized holographic projection related to Project Blue Beam. I initially believed that myself, however, after looking into this technology further (that's my job) I found this was simply an Augmented Reality projection that appeared only on the fan's cell phone screens. The improper use of the word "hologram" is totally disingenuous.

The entire stadium was modeled, then the CGI dragon animation was integrated into the model space. The app uses the fan's camera along with GPS and phone sensor data to produce the proper point of view perspective. It's a cool AR demonstration, but it was NOT filmed as shown as live and separate from the phone application. It was not visible to the unaided naked eye.

To realize the large-scale augmented reality(AR) performance, SK Telecom has applied its self-developed AR and VR technologies including ‘eSpace’ and ‘T real Platform.’

This was performed by SK Telecom at South Korea's Happy Dream Stadium as a demonstration of their newly installed 5G bandwidth capability. While I am personally not a fan of 5G, its high bandwidth allowed this to appear as real-time...but only on the user's phone screen.
