Tim Langan - What The Funk ?

"What The Funk ?" was created and composed entirely on my Yamaha Motif XS6 synthesizer, with its built in 16-track sequencer. I am very happy with the way this one turned out and feel that the accompanying video slideshow may be some of my best work to date.
I wonder how many people really understand how long it takes to compose and orchestrate a piece like this, in order to bring it to completion and after all of that is done, trying to create and find images and "art" to put together a slideshow like this, that is in sync with the music.
In the process of putting this together, I stumbled upon an exceptional artist and painter named FRANK MORRISON, whose work I was unfamiliar with, but it reminded me a little of the artwork from two Miles Davis albums: 'On The Corner' and 'Bitches Brew,' so I thought that I should feature many of Mr. Morrison's musical series of paintings, as his work is not only awe inspiring to me, but his vast catalog of works is simply unbelievable and I strongly urge you to check further into this great artist's creations online. Support and celebrate great art and artists, while they are alive !!!!

My motivation for writing this tune was based off of the guitar sound in the intro, which I thought was quite nice, considering it is coming off of a keyboard. It took me down a different path than I usually would have traveled and the piece just sort of wrote itself from there. I hope that this piece moves you enough to leave a comment or subscribe to my channel and check out more of the music that I've posted here. (There are currently over 110 of my Keyboard Composition tunes up here now) This song was taken from my eleventh solo CD of Keyboard Compositions entitled "T as in ..."
I appreciate the time you took to read this and check out this tune !
