ETS2 - Utopia map - how quickly can you get up to the highest point in the game?

In this video, I rerun a challenge section on the Utopia standalone map mod for SCS Software's Euro Truck Simulator 2. Previously, I had tackled the run in the same truck with a fully automatic gearbox and, despite having the differential locks engaged, there were sections that reduced to a crawl as the auto box hunted between gears. The truck still made it up, but is there a better way?

This time, I switch to the in-game sequential-manual gearbox, control the gears myself, and have a much quicker run. It was only at the top that I realised I hadn't even turned on the diff-locks!

The upshot is - for this game, in situations where traction is tricky, go with a manually-controlled gearbox!
