musicboxx is proud to have MIKE DIERICKX outline some of the basics of mixing your levels in your track. His record is extensive producing and remixing for many artists such as Moby, Sinead O'Connor, 2 Unlimited, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten just to name a few.

This video has been specifically designed for the novice electronic music producer. Mike is using Logic pro 9 in this video. However the video outlines principles that can be applied to any other PLATFORMS/SOFTWARE or DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). If you enjoyed the video please share, like, comment and subscribe to support the production of this content.

Focal points he will be covering:
-25 % from the top of the fader slot, represents the zero level
-Each channel has a meter which also reads the zero level and anything over that level turns red and output of that channel could clip and distort.
-The only exception are fast hits, like cymbals or drums, and these instruments could jump past the zero level in the plus two clip range and still not distort, always let your ears be the judge
-Start always with a kick drum, then bass, leads and so on. Use your ears tell how this mix sounds. Visually, mixing metres won’t always tell you the whole story.
-Make sure you don’t exceed the zero dB level in mixing your tracks
