How to make the base for Tonic Water & Filter Cinchona Bark

Quinine:
Cinchona Bark contains Quinine. There are health benefits and Side Effects with Quinine. Please do your own research and consume at your own risk. Some people have very bad reactions. Please take added precautions of you could be pregnant. It is possible and dangerous to overdose on Quinine.

This is not an entire recipe just a base & suggestions to get you started:
4 Cups of Water
1/4 Cup Cinchona Bark
Pinch of Salt
2 Tbs. Citric Acid - Optional (We don't use it)
Sweetener

Flavoring suggestions:
Spices - such as allspice, pepper, star anise, cardamom, lavender, lemongrass

Roots - Ginger, Gentian Root etc.

Fruits or Zests - such as lemon, lime, orange, strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, grapefruit etc.

Grapefruit is the flavour of most bottled Tonic Water.

Sweeten to taste with sugar, agave etc. while the bark is steeping especially with sugar so that it melts. Grab a spoon to taste!
