The Jubilee Calendar Part 11 - Daniel Study

I want to show you why the Jubilee calendar started at the time of the exodus. Let’s go to the Bible and notice what the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt. Exodus 12:1 says, From now on, this month will be the first month of the year for you.

What does that mean? It means, when the Jews were living in Egypt they used the Egyptian calendar which is a summer to summer calendar; and when God got ready to deliver Israel out of Egypt, he started the Jubilee calendar 15 days before their exodus because the Passover is going to occur on the fifteenth day of the first month.

God is setting up a new calendar which is unlike the Egyptian calendar. God is starting a calendar, revealing a calendar, declaring a calendar that did not previously exist. This month is to be for you the first month of your year! Then later, God builds upon this and sets up the week of months, the week of years, and the week of weeks, and it all goes back to the exodus.
