Michigan State Board of Education meeting 1/11/22

There is just so much here to unpack. That I’m having a hard time thinking of an appropriate “description”. Resolutions for crt & masking/injection mandates (recommendations) aka “personal opinions”. I have at least 500 questions on all of this. And I’m not generally pro CRT, but I’m not anti American/ world history. History is one of the most important subjects to learn about (imo)
But Miss. Tiffany clearly states that, paraphrasing here, “CRT has nothing to do with history”…. So I’m curious as to what is the point of it being taught in K-12?? If it’s not factually (or as we’ve been taught) based information?? But a theory used in college law academics?? I just have a a lot of questions.
It just seems as if the members of the board are imposing their own personal will and opinions, for whatever reason they have them. Onto masses of other people. Without looking to all sides of the equation, before coming to a determination on the common good for all. In every resolution I’ve heard in this section.
But also don’t disagree with everything that was said from most of the members. Trying to stay centered and be #teamredwhite&blue only. Way harder these days than it has ever been in my entire life.
