You Are as Close to God as You Care To Be

One step forward and two steps back?
Their are those that actually believe The Book of James does not belong in the Bible?

They say that James contradicts Paul's saved by grace and grace alone statements?

Nothing could be further from the truth, James is saying that if you have faith then works will follow close behind, faith brings about works!

James is the proverbs of the New Testament, He is a man of action, no middle ground, black and white, he pulls no punches? The Tongue etc.

Jas 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Jas 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Verse 8; James is telling us in this passage that if there is a problem between you and God then the problem is within you!

Verse 8b-9; James is telling us that it's time for a thorough self inspection, you need to figure what is causing the gap between you and God and fix it?

Once you figure it out, admit it, bring it to God, and God will forgive you and restore you.

1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Anytime there is anything between me and God, I lose everything?

1. My prayer life suffers, their is a blockade between me and Heaven.
2. My Love, Joy, and Peace is gone? Replaced by fear!
3. My Health suffers? Why would God heal me?
4. My life starts to unravel? God's blessings are effected as the demonic host now has a legal right to afflict me?

Whatever it is get it fixed, you are on a downward spiral and it is not going to fix itself,

Close the gap because you're as close to God as you want to be?
