Daniel 7 Continued Part 5 - Daniel Study

We're going to examine two verses that have enormous importance. These two verses are poorly understood by most people; they don't have a clue about their meaning, and where there is no meaning there is no importance. We’re going to try to change that today. When you finish this video, I hope you will have a great appreciation for these two verses.

Daniel 7:13 says, "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man...” this is interesting. This is 555 years before Christ comes to earth, and there is one in heaven that is unlike all the others. All the others are angels except for the father, but there was one like a son of man. Well, that's a big clue: coming with the clouds of heaven.

Now, this isn't the second coming of course. Actually, he approaches the Ancient of Days who has taken his seat and was led into his presence. What Daniel is saying is, in this great courtroom setting I saw one who was like US coming with the clouds of heaven; he's attended by a retinue of many angels and he approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.

In verse 14 the son of man was given four things, things he didn't currently have. You can't be given something you already have possession of. Daniel 7:14 says, “He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him.” Notice he was given authority that he didn't have; he was given glory that he didn't have; he was given worship that he didn’t have – the worship comes after the other three are given; and he was given sovereign power that he didn't have.

Sovereign power means controlling power. There is no higher power than sovereign power. How can you be more powerful than ALL powerful? This is an exaltation of Christ of which most people don't have a clue. It's really quite neat if you'll stop to consider it!

I'm going to say some things you haven't heard before perhaps. I'm going to say some things that will be different than everything you believed. Yet please give me a chance to lay everything out and to present it, and then see what you think. That’s only fair.
