Seven Seals Part 14 - Revelation Study

Looking back over history, I want you to notice how the seed of truth started growing. Here is a list of notable men that were raised up by the Holy Spirit to preach salvation through faith in Christ alone. I start with John Haas in the 14th century. Now, this is before 1798 but I'm trying to demonstrate that God is moving quietly—in a small way—getting ready for the great explosion that will happen in 1798.

So the protesters (Protestants) start off as a small group and are slowly getting larger and larger until, finally, the church comes to have authority. After John Haas, there's martin Luther in the 15th century, then there's John Calvin, John cotton, John Wesley, Adam Clark, Dwight moody, Billy Sunday, and Billy Graham. I've gone through and taken from each century people that I think standout historically as great expositors of salvation through faith in Christ.

History confirms these men were champions of God's grace. They did not achieve the great recognition that they have just because they worked at it. No, God gave these men their place in history because they were champions. I love the truth that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. You might ask, well, how can salvation through faith in Jesus Christ be a new campaign in 1798 if salvation through faith in Jesus has been proclaimed ever since he went back to heaven? The answer will surprise you. The confining power of religion keeps people in ignorance; it keeps people from considering ideas that are religiously different than what they believe. That’s part of the arrogance of religion—it's just its nature. This is why Muslims can't tell Baptists about God, and Mormons can't tell Episcopalians about God.
