COVID-19 experiences: The Republic of Korea response

The Republic of Korea is one of the first countries in the world to be affected by COVID-19. To address the outbreak in the country, the government has implemented a strong, nationwide response, based on in-depth testing and follow-up communication, health care for affected people and a clear public awareness campaign. This response, based on lessons learned from past emergencies and WHO advice and support, brought the epidemic under control and demonstrated the importance of adhering to proven public health practices.
