Isaiah Meanderings (30): Ch 36-Stepping into History with Hezekiah- A Righteous King Turns to Yahweh

We've arrived to a moment in the book of Isaiah in which Assyria threatens to destroy Jerusalem. Hezekiah is very vulnerable. He is mocked in front of his own nation. Turning to Yahweh, God reassures Hezekiah that he will defend Jerusalem. We see the true God at work. Not the god carved out of wood, not the god poured from hot metal... but the true God who is able to save and is willing to save and does so. All of our prior discussions come to clarity in these historically grounded, crescendoing chapters of Isaiah.
