Pale Blue Dot is a photograph of Earth taken by Voyager 1 space probe from 6 billion kilometres. In the photograph earth's apparent size is less than a pixel appearing as a tiny dot. This view inspired Carl Sagan to write in his book. The term Pale blue dot is coined by Sagan himself. Carl Sagan is an American astronomer, astrophysicist, astrobiologist and science popularizer. He is best known for his research on extraterrestrial life.
