Kokanee Salmon at Soldier Creek, Strawberry Reservoir, Utah May 2021.
It was early morning trolling for Kokanee Salmon at Strawberry Reservoir on the Soldier Creek side. We trolled dodgers, followed by a squid for the early morning fish. We found the Kokanee near the surface about 20 ft. depth. We caught one salmon first thing in the morning and then went awhile before we started picking up Rainbow trout and Cutthroat trout. We moved around, trying a few different spots until late afternoon when we started catching Kokanee again. We managed to catch three Kokanee Salmon on into the evening. We headed back to the Soldier Creek marina, pulled the boat out and headed home just before dark. Kokanee fishing was slow but we did manage to pick up some nice fish. We had nothing to worry about because the Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout fishing kept us entertained all day. All in all the fishing was great.
