Train Ride Durango to Silverton Colorado

This was a fun family outing. The sites and sounds were beautiful and relaxing. The train staff were very friendly and informative. We did get the round trip all day ticket, one because we had never taken this trip before and two because the one way ticket would leave you needing transportation back to Durango and at the time of our trip COVID had the return bus service closed. However in "normal" times I do recommend the one way ticket. One way will allow you as much time in Silverton as you want without rushing and the view on the way back on the other side of the tracks was not as scenic. Also we booked the enclosed car with windows that can lowered or raised, next time we will book the Gondola car to see more without obstructions. But either way you do it, just do it!!!! This was well worth the price of the tickets!!!
