While I was a volunteer, (VIGOR) EMT in New Orleans I got the chance to serve at the Buku Festival. On the way over one paramedic says to the other, "so, what night do you think someone goes into the river?" To which the reply was, " second night." Having no idea what they meant and suffering under the delusion that Buku was a two day paper mache` art exhibit I asked what they meant, wasn't this a kid's art camp? NO! This was to be a two-day rave in which someone invariably goes into the river. With a 10 percent survival rate.. They were wrong, it was the first night and the odds seemed to be on our side. This scene is from just after sunset on the first day. Nothing too crazy had happened yet. The hoop girl was surprised at the electronic shapes that appeared when she was videoed.
