This hypnotising video shows how sub-zero conditions made this road look like a spooky shot of an alien planet.

Filmmaker Elise Edens was driving when she noticed the captivating scene and pulled over to take in - and film - the incredible sight.

Elise, from Davenport, Iowa, USA, said: “As cold as it was today, the snow blowing across the roads looked pretty damn cool.

“We, the residents of Eastern Iowa, are in a winter weather advisory of wind gusts that are causing the blowing and drifting of previous snowfall. The result being this amazing sight!”
