Pickup Rear Ends 18 Wheeler, Driver Flown, LIVINGSTON, January 5, 2022, - At approximately 6:10 pm on January 5, 2022, an 18 wheeler, driven by Raymond Pickney, 61, of Livignston, was south-bound on FM-350 South. Pickney attempted a right turn onto Mangum Road and was slammed from behind by a white 2002 Dodge Dakota, driven by Kenneth Turbeville, 71, of Livingston. Pickney pulled his 18 wheeler onto Mangum and parked on the shoulder. Turbeville's vehicle came to rest in the south-bound lane of 350. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies Keagen Newman, Darren Brooks, and Adrian Ontiveros with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit, Constable Marcello Rosario, and Trooper Donny Akers with the Texas Highway Patrol. Turbeville was pinned in his vehicle. Volunteer Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the roof off of his vehicle. EMS personnel carefully removed Turbeville from his vehicle and transported him by ambulance to Livingston Municipal Airport where an Air Life medical helicopter landed and transported him to Conroe Regional Hospital with major injuries. Pickney was physically okay. All traffic on 350 South was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Turbeville was cited for failure to control speed, and Pickney was cited for no insurance. Turbeville's vehicle was recovered by Kwik Tow Recovery and will be stored in Livingston. Pickney's vehicle was driven from the scene.
