He realized there were no longer suitable role models for kids, and that in the most important stages of their development (ages 5-12), the lack of positive influences and messages about giving/ charity could have profound effects on not just their lives but their communities. So he created a family activity that uses a group of nonprofits, voice-assisted technology and customized cards to instill those values. Families receive the cards in the mail, and let kids choose one — which is embedded with a code that can be read by Alexa. They then hear a customized message about a particular non-profit and how far even $1 donation can go to change someone's life.
