Why Locke?

In 2021 the John Locke Foundation and the Civitas Institute merged to form a policy powerhouse to fight for liberty in North Carolina. With three decades of freedom-forward research and policy reforms, the staffs and resources of both organizations united to begin a new decade together; stronger and even more responsive to the political and policy landscape of North Carolina. This new organization is one that creates, innovates, and advocates to ensure all North Carolinians’ liberties are defended and advanced. We are more effective now than ever before, but we can’t fight alone. We need you. Together we can ensure liberty and freedom for all North Carolinians, now and into the future.
