When Should I Expect my W-2 and Form 1099?

Employers and businesses are generally required to complete and furnish a copy of Form W-2 and Form 1099-NEC to their employees and contractors on or before January 31st.

The employers and businesses are then obligated to file copies of W-2s and 1099s with the IRS and SSA on the same due date.

Exceptions exist for certain extensions, or if the 1099 form is related to interest, dividends, or broker transactions.
