Child of Vision by Supertramp ~ Becoming Christ-like is the Only Way

Supertramp's body of work is truly stunning, as we were given insights into the Whole Truth of Mankind by two VERY different songwriters in the Band...Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies...

Roger Hodgson is a Man who has dedicated his Life to discovering God Within himself, and every single song he has ever written, has been an Allegory to Discovering God Within Ourselves via the Right Hemisphere of the Brain...Lore, Legend and Magic...

Rick Davies is a self proclaimed Man of "Science and Reason", a Non-Believer in God...embracing a world filled with Facts, Figures and Logic; thus, the Left Brain, writing songs about finding one's way thru the Maze of the Left Brain...

And in this literally perfect creation by Roger Hodgson, he finally brought the Great Divide between these two men, front and centre on their biggest selling album, ever, Breakfast in America...as the Album's Closing Track...in the song, Hodgson confronts Davies, asking him, essentially, why he is a Child with very little vision, by believing in, and embracing the World "Out There" as the only thing that is real and tangible...and incredibly within the song, Hodgson allows Davies to answer him back, in Rick Davies' own voice, justifying his reasons for following what many would call "Normal"...

However, there is an even Higher aspect to this song, which is that it can be viewed as Jesus Christ being the song's Protagonist, speaking to us...with our own EGO replying to the Shepherd of Life within us...either way, this is such a Brilliant and Important track, because it allows us to see what happens when the Left Brain and the Right Brain have the courage to open a dialogue between each other, and the aftermath of their Division...

And remember, the ONLY way out of the Hell of the Left Brain Ego, is to Go Within, via embracing the Teachings and the Life of Jesus Christ, which encourages us to Cast our Nets to the Right, so that All of our Cups will runneth over with God, forevermore!!!
